New Battery Holder

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

Battery acid had finally eaten away at the connectors on Twilight Zone’s battery holder, so I ordered a new one from Marco Specialties and soldered it into the CPU board.

Good 'ole battery holder.

Machine Move (or “I Am The Nicest Brother”)

Sunday, April 21st, 2002

Since I don’t have enough room at my house for all my machines I decided to set some up a my siblings’ houses. My sister is getting Star Wars and Cirqus Voltaire and my brother is getting Twilight Zone.

Rented a small truck from Budget with a lift-gate. One of those little Isuzu jobbers:

Gotta get the lift-gate.

The lift-gate is absolutely key. Once the machines are folded up and vertical you can just roll them on and off the truck (via the lift-gate) with a dolly, and strap them to the rails inside the truck.

The hardest part was getting Twilight Zone into my brother’s basement via the bulkhead stairs. We finally ended up laying it down while still in the dolly, tying a rope around it and belaying it down off a tree. Then we had to take the door at the bottom of the stairs off its hinge to get the machine through. Goddamn wide-body machines.

Moving pinball machines sucks.

Pack ‘em Up

Tuesday, February 20th, 2001

Sadly, all of my machines had to be put into storage in my basement. My company moved offices and there was no room for them at the new one (and no room in my house!).
