Pop Bumper Ring Assembly And Skirt In Sketchup

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Like the title sez:

Pop Bumper Ring Assembly

Pop Bumper Skirt

Real pop bumper ring assembly.

Real pop bumper skirt.

Ring assembly is WMS part #A-4754. Skirt is WMS part #03-6035-XX (a.k.a. Bumper Wafer).

Once again I borrowed these photos from parts4pinballs. I’m going to assume for the time being that they don’t mind.

Pop Bumper Drill Template

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

Here, my friends, we have a drill template for a standard Williams/Bally pop bumper, as measured to the best of my ability off a blank ToTAN playfield.

Hole descriptions.

Hole diameters.

Hole dimensions.

Now With Screw Holes!

It suddenly looks much more like a pop-bumper cap.

Much better.

Call For Pinball Themes

Monday, December 18th, 2006

Even though the third phase of my pinball building scheme will never come to fruition, I’m looking for ideas people have for an original pinball theme.

So, if you have an idea for a theme, please post a comment or send me an email.

Star-posts and rubber ring, placed on top of slingshot hole template. I bet it would look cool with colors.

Damn, this is exciting!

At this point in time, I really really really like Sketchup.

Slingshot Bumper Drill Template In Sketchup

Monday, December 18th, 2006

Here is a drill template for the holes needed for a left-hand slingshot bumper. I tried to measure as obsessive-compulsively accurately as possible.

The holes.

The hole diameters.

The hole locations.

Man, I just love Sketchup.

Some of the dimension values look like they could be rounded to the nearest 1/32” or 1/16”.

Pop-Bumper Cap In Sketchup

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

WMS #03-8254-XX. Didn’t bother with the top screw holes.

I wonder how many objects I will model before I get tired of this.

WMS #03-8254-18

Credit where credit is due: I sourced this photo from parts4pinballs.com.

I think I will add the screw holes since their position could factor into the ultimate mounting position in a real machine.

Star Post In Sketchup

Saturday, December 16th, 2006

Behold the Star Post (WMS #03-8319-XX). Doesn’t have the inner details, but the outline is accurate.

Star Post modeled in Sketchup.

The real thing.

Only about 1000 other parts to go before I can model a whole machine.
